He still managed to find some time to message his favorite football coach.
When Carlton coach Michael Voss spotted this, an involuntary grin spread across his face.

After all, Postecoglou is the biggest deal in Australian sport right now, following his trailblazing Europa League final win over

.
“I didn’t anticipate a response, yet typical of him, he answered,” Voss stated on Thursday.
‘Very brief and to the point, with the final message being “always watching,” which made for a fitting conclusion.’
Postecoglou has had longstanding connections with Carlton, having been part of the group that selected Brendon Bolton as coach back in 2015.
During the off-season, Voss visited Spurs to work with Postecoglou as part of a personal growth journey. On Thursday morning, he thoroughly enjoyed his ‘remarkable’ victory.
“He expresses his opinions quite openly, and I believe some individuals have described him as obstinate on occasion,” he stated.
But all I see is a coach who genuinely believes in his approach as the correct method, and he has demonstrated this consistency over time.
I’ll simply point out that the message isn’t so much about what he said to me, but rather what I took from it: It’s all about perseverance, setting a good example, and believing in yourself—continuing to push forward.
‘What others comment on truly isn’t important. The focus should be on our thoughts and beliefs.’
Voss aims to learn from some of the challenges and pressures that Postecoglou has successfully dealt with.
He remarked before the match against GWS at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, saying that observing another coach operate and seeing how they manage makes you realize just how significant this role truly is.
‘And the degree of determination required to genuinely achieve the pinnacle.’
‘If anything, you walk away, you’re almost doubling down on the things you think are right. And that holds you in good stead.
‘There might be some lessons for us in that at present.’
As The Blues aim to address their recent inconsistencies, they will welcome back Tom De Koning for their match against an injury-ravaged GWS team.
Voss anticipated that Giants captain Toby Greene would establish the pace, particularly as this marked his 250th match. Meanwhile, Voss aimed to support skipper Patrick Cripps amid recent criticisms directed at him.
Voss mentioned that ‘There’s a bit of an issue where you face criticism for being a solo act, but the moment a few more people join, suddenly the focus shifts to how they’re not performing well enough.’
‘I’ll go with the shared workload version.’
‘I’ll support the leader who steps aside to let others advance, and I believe this will make us a stronger team overall.’
Elijah Holland’s return date from his leave for personal reasons has not been set yet.
The Blues plan to pay tribute to former star player Robert Walls by holding a one-minute standing ovation at 12:42 pm, which falls seven minutes after the start of the game on Saturday. This moment commemorates his 12-year tenure with Carlton wearing jersey number 42.
