A purchaser watching Escape To The Country was puzzled by the cost of a home before unexpectedly changing their mind.
In Thursday’s episode of the
BBC
Nicki Chapman had the responsibility of locating a new residence in Cornwall for the semi-retired lecturer Clement and his grandson Luke.
They were relocating from Surrey to the seaside area to be nearer to their relatives who were already living there.
Nicki, who specializes in property matters, stated: “He desires a clean beginning and exciting new ventures, and honestly, I can’t imagine a more suitable location for these than this place.”
The father of four, Clement, was joined by his youngest daughter, Hannah, who assisted him in looking for a new house.
He aimed to stay close to enjoyable walking paths and had a budget of £675,000 for a standalone four-bedroom home featuring both a garden and a garage.
Nicki showed Clement a variety of potential houses, yet it was the enigmatic house that really astonished him.
The white-rendered building, formerly utilized as a doctor’s office, featured distinct Victorian elements.
‘This is utterly breathtaking,’ Hannah exclaimed.
“Indeed, it’s fascinating,” Clement concurred.
Even though Clement felt indifferent during the screening, they appeared quite engaged when the group discussed it later in the garden.
“Is the enchanted house doing its trick?” Nicki questioned.
“It’s performing some kind of enchantment; it’s one of those houses that gradually wins you over as you explore it,” Clement responded.
Nicki disclosed that the asking price was £650,000, which is quite a significant £25,000 under their set budget.
‘Where’s the contract to sign? Let’s go,’ Hannah exclaimed.
Clement seemed astonished by the cost and remarked, “I enjoy discussions, particularly such as these; they’re splendid.”
By the episode’s conclusion, it was disclosed that Clement had set up additional viewings for two homes, one of which was the mysterious property.
He submitted an offer on the mysterious property but eventually chose to pursue a totally different home instead.
