All aspiring theater directors, take notice.
Jeff Marontate, who serves as the resident director at Korda Artistic Productions, will be conducting a workshop in May focusing on various subjects aimed at individuals interested in gaining deeper insights into the role of a theatre director.
Participants will be able to collaborate on chosen scenes alongside local actors and gain insights into essential aspects of directing, including text analysis, business management, staging techniques, handling different periods and styles, interpreting scripts, and visualizing the overall performance.
Marontate leverages his extensive background directing over 45 shows with Korda, notably including September’s production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
Apart from his contributions at Korda, Marontate has also steered performances at Theatre Windsor, Sun Parlour Players, and Rose City Rising Stars.
The bi-partite directing workshop is scheduled for May 9, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, followed by May 10, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Kordazone Theatre located at 2520 Seminole Street.
The enrollment is capped at 21 individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
The price is $30 per individual.
The proceeds will fund Korda’s participation in the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
