Drones Strike: Reports of Major Attack on Russian Military Bases in Occupied Crimea

Russian air defenses allegedly intercepted 89 Ukrainian drones over occupied Crimea and another 23 over the waters of the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on May 2.

A Telegram channel has reported explosions at multiple strategic points throughout the peninsula, affecting areas such as Sevastopol, Dzhankoy, Saky, Novofedorivka, and Kacha — all of which house Russian military airbases.

To manage the airspace above the Black Sea and carry out attacks within Ukraine’s borders. Footage shared by Crimea Winds revealed numerous blasts and a blaze near the town ofUhlove, which is in proximity to the Kacha airstrip.

Uhlove is situated approximately 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) away from the shore of Kalamit Bay and around 25 kilometers (15 miles) southwest of Simferopol.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, who was installed as the leader by Russia,

, verified on Telegram that ” loud noises” resulted from Russian troops fending off a suspected drone assault.

He claimed seven
drones
had been demolished far out at sea, away from the coastline.

“The fleet, in cooperation with air defense forces, is reflecting a massive combined attack,” he wrote, claiming no damage to infrastructure in Sevastopol or its waters.

Ukraine hasn’t made an official statement about the alleged strikes, and the Kyiv Independent was unable to confirm these reports independently.

Ukraine has conducted multiple effective assaults on Russian positions in territories it considers occupied.
