The renowned batsman supported RCB’s chances of winning it all, praising their well-rounded capabilities and consistently strong showings, especially when playing away from home.
Currently placed second on the league table, RCB has secured wins in seven out of their ten games played thus far. Notably, each victory was achieved during an away match, underscoring their capability to perform well under pressure this season. Their losses have predominantly occurred at home, which might pose a significant issue as they approach the latter part of the league stage. As they gear up for their last four encounters—three of which will take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium—their inconsistent performance at home presents a possible hurdle for RCB.
This season, the team based in Bangalore has performed as a unified unit, stepping away from the traditional reliance on individual superstar players.

Match winners have surfaced throughout various departments, including notable performances from Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Devdutt Padikkal, and Josh Hazlewood, all of whom have played crucial roles in the team’s achievements.
“Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They’ve batted well and fielded superbly too. Mumbai Indians are close, but they’ve only just started their surge. The question is whether they can maintain it, as they have three tough matches coming up against top teams. How they carry that momentum will be key. But yes, RCB are definitely the title favourites,” Gavaskar said.
RCB face CSK
Although Gavaskar recognized the surge of the Mumbai Indians during the latter part of the season, he pointed out that Royal Challengers Bangalore still hold a slight edge because of their equilibrium and steadiness. These comments arrive at an essential phase of the competition, as squads compete fiercely for positions in the playoffs.
RCB’s upcoming match takes place on Saturday as they welcome struggling Chennai Super Kings to town. In an earlier game this season, Bangalore handedly beat CSK, and during their most recent encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2024, RCB dashed CSK’s postseason aspirations. Since CSK have been knocked out of contention for this season, team captain MS Dhoni has openly declared that their current aim is focused on long-term reconstruction efforts and providing opportunities for emerging talents to shine.
