(Newsinpo.site) – The Israeli military reported intercepting a missile aimed at Israel originating from Yemen on Thursday morning. This assault bears similarities to attacks typically carried out by the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The missile triggered sirens in several areas of central Israel, the military said in a statement.
Unfazed by Israeli assaults on Yemen, the Houthis persist in launching missiles towards Israel, framing these actions as support for Palestinians in Gaza. Despite this, they’ve committed to ceasing hostilities against U.S. vessels. However, the organization hasn’t taken accountability for the missile launch that occurred on Thursday.
Israel has carried out retaliatory strikes, including one on May 6 that damaged Yemen’s main airport in Sanaa, and another last week targeting the Red Sea ports of Hodeidah and Salif.
Since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in October 2023, the Houthis have carried out numerous missile and drone strikes aimed at Israel; however, many of these have either been thwarted or failed to reach their targets.
