TORONTO — Mike Myers is set to perform live in Toronto for a comedy benefit organized for a local cancer charity.

The Canadian comic will take the stage for “It’s Always Something: Open Mike” at The Second City Toronto on May 12.

Colin Mochrie, known from “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, will join in the performance, with improvisational comedian David Shore stepping up as the host.

The performance will also include Shore’s “Monkey Toast: The Improvised Talk Show.”

The event is being organized by Gilda’s Toronto, a charitable group founded in memory of renowned comedian Gilda Radner, who was part of the first ensemble on “Saturday Night Live.” This nonprofit provides assistance to individuals battling cancer and their families.

Myers was born in Toronto and gained prominence through “SNL.” Recently, he has come back to the show to depict Elon Musk, causing a stir when he appeared onstage wearing a T-shirt that defended Canada’s autonomy following U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks suggesting Canada might become the “51st state.”

The report from The Canadian Press was initially released on May 2, 2025.
