By 10:00 PM Kyiv time on May 17, a cumulative total of 131 skirmishes had occurred at various points along the frontline since morning. The majority of these confrontations were documented in the vicinity of Pokrovsk, according to statements from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy shelling
On yesterday, Russian forces conducted 52 airstrike missions, releasing 63 precision-guided munitions. Furthermore, they utilized 1,036 unmanned combat aerial vehicles and executed close to 4,000 assaults against locations occupied by Ukrainian forces as well as residential areas.

in the Kharkiv direction,
close to Vovchansk and heading towards Stroivka.
In the Kupiansk direction
The adversary launched a single attack attempt close to Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction,
The defense forces thwarted 19 assaults on locations close to the communities of Novoiehorivka, Lozova, Ridkodub, Hrekivka, Katerynivka, Yampolivka, and Zelena Dolyna. Three encounters continue as of now.
In the Siversk direction,
The adversary launched ten attacks close to Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske, with two encounters remaining unsettled.
From the beginning of the day,
in the Kramatorsk direction
The adversary launched assaults in the regions of Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, as well as towards Predtechyne, Stupochky, and Bila Hora. Ukrainian forces successfully defended against six attacks, with two engagements still taking place. Kostiantynivka sustained damage from Russian-guided missile strikes.
In the Toretsk direction
Today, there were 14 skirmishes. The adversary tried to attack Ukrainian forces in the regions of Toretsk, Ozaryanivka, Dylivka, and Druzhba.
In the Pokrovsk direction,
Since the beginning of today, the adversary has initiated 44 attacks around the communities of Stara Mykolaivka, Yablunivka, Vozdvyzhenка, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Novosergiivka, Troitske, and Andriivka. The courageous forces have thwarted 38 offensives, leaving six encounters yet unresolved.
“According to today’s update, initial reports indicate that 372 Russian soldiers have been incapacitated, with 228 being permanently removed from combat. Furthermore, Ukrainian forces demolished one self-propelled artillery system, seven vehicles, 27 motorcycles, a mortar, and 15 drones; they also inflicted damage on an additional self-propelled artillery unit,” the statement read.
In the Novopavlivka direction
, Ukrainian defenders repelled 19 enemy attacks near Kostyantinopol, Bahatyr, Vilne Pole, Rivnopil, Novopil, and Zelene Pole.
On the Orikhiv direction
, our defenders repelled five enemy attacks near Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Mali Shcherbaky, with one clash still ongoing.

On May 16, over the last day, a total of 145 skirmishes occurred across the frontline. The bulk of these assaults took place in the regions of Donetsk and Kharkiv.
