got into an enthusiastic conversation with the referees. The captain of the Gujarat Titans couldn’t keep his feelings in check during the intense game and clashed with the umpires multiple times following decisions that seemed to favor the Sunrisers. Nonetheless, he remained steadfast in his position even post-match.

In the initial inning, Gill had reservations about the third umpire’s choice to declare him run out. The decision did not sit well with him since it came down to a tight judgment where Heinrich Klaasen’s gloves nearly touched the bails. There was an evident deflection off the ball coupled with Klaasen being perilously near to dislodging the wickets.

Following his contentious dismissal, the batsman was spotted conversing with the fourth umpire close to the Gujarat team area.

At the same time, he had yet another disagreement with the umpire when SRH was batting. This occurred on the fourth delivery of the 14th over. As Abhishek Sharma shifted position within the crease, Prasidh Krishna executed a precise Yorker which struck him on the leg side. The review indicated that the impact was deemed ‘umpire’s call,’ thus sparing Abhishek Sharma. This outcome clearly upset the captain from Gujarat, who engaged in a rather heated discussion with the field umpires about it.

Following the post-game ceremony, Shubman was questioned regarding his lively conversations with the referee. He acknowledged that his feelings had overwhelmed him; however, he maintained his position, stating that it’s natural for everyone to exhibit some emotion after putting everything into play.

“There was a brief conversation between myself and the umpire; since we often get caught up in numerous emotions when giving our all out on the field at 110 percent, it’s only natural for those feelings to surface,” Shubman stated.

“We simply want to give our best”: Shubman Gill

In addition, he discussed the Titans’ batting strategy as their top three performers once again showcased their skills, enabling them to score an impressive total of 224 for six. The bowlers then managed to successfully defend this target against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“Did not anticipate those 22 dot balls; our intention was to carry on playing as usual. The black soil pitches make it challenging to hit sixes easily. However, knowing how our top-order operates, we understand the importance of keeping the scorecard moving forward. There has never been a discussion about having one of the top three batsmen stay until the end every time. We’re simply keen to perform our best,” stated Gill during the post-match presentation.
