Despite being theoretically within reach, securing a playoff spot would require them to claim victory in every match left on their schedule, amassing 14 points total—a scenario that currently looks extremely unlikely.

Although Cummins didn’t state it explicitly, he suggested that the team will start focusing on what lies ahead, underlining the significance of keeping a solid central roster intact.

“There remains a glimmer of hope. A major auction took place last year. This key team members will stay for another three years. Thus, there’s much to look forward to,” he finished.

With the loss, SRH remained second from the bottom in the points table with just 6 points from 10 games. They are only ahead of Chennai Super Kings, who appear destined to finish with the wooden spoon this season.
