Ukraine has initiated a digital warfare encouragement program that compensates drone operators for neutralizing Russian targets with payment in equipment. This scheme, known as
Army of Drones Bonus
, turns front-line combat into a game-like experience aiming to decentralize decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

War Effort Quantified in Points

The initiative, launched by Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, provides drone units as rewards for verified eliminations.

To earn points, operators must submit verified video footage of strikes. Once verified, points can be redeemed for advanced drones and other battlefield gear — directly upgrading the firepower of the most successful teams.

According to
Tech.wp
, units receive 6 points for disabling a soft target, 20 for damaging a tank, 40 for destroying one, and up to 50 for eliminating mobile missile systems. The new incentive model not only encourages tactical precision, it creates data to optimize equipment orders and battlefield logistics.

From Charting Hits to Buying Equipment

The system will shortly incorporate with
Brave1 Market
, Ukraine’s defense technology marketplace. This platform enables units to buy combat gear directly with their earned digital points. Importantly, this decentralization shifts control over procurements into the hands of those engaged in frontline operations.

The army has observed that top-tier, less prominent units can now obtain advanced equipment without requiring public attention or advocacy at higher levels of command.

“Effectiveness gets rewarded,” according to officials.

A Strategic Change in Contemporary Warfare

In addition to offering rewards, the program delivers crucial information by determining which drones excel most effectively in actual combat situations. This cycle of feedback assists Ukraine in optimizing their defense expenditures and entering into extended agreements with trustworthy producers.

As Ukraine adjusts to a conflict increasingly defined by artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, programs such as
Army of Drones Bonus
mark a shift in how modern conflicts are managed — faster, data-driven, and operator-empowered.
