The Russian representatives during the talks in Istanbul probably attempted to apply psychological pressure on the Ukrainian team. Nonetheless, these strategies merely bolstered their resolve to stand against the aggressor, according to Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister, Serhiy Kyslytsya.

Kyslytsya indicated that the Russian delegation might have attempted to bully him individually during the gathering in Istanbul.

“Whether I or perhaps others in our delegation were the targets of these ‘intimidation’ tactics, or whether they were aimed at all of us, they failed utterly. Instead, they have produced precisely the opposite result,” stated the First Deputy Foreign Minister.

He stressed that this approach only bolstered Ukraine’s resolve to halt the malevolence that proudly admits to killings and remains steadfast in its mission to keep exterminating innocent civilians.

Kyslytsya also posted an image of his deceased nephew Max, who was 23 years old.

“Max was 23 years old and will remain forever youthful in our memories,” he added.

Earlier, the First Deputy Foreign Minister had shared that his nephew was killed in the summer of 2022 on the front line near Sievierodonetsk. On that very day, Kyslytsya was listening to a speech by Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.

Yesterday, a quote from the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, appeared in the press: “Maybe some of those sitting here at this table will lose more of their loved ones. Russia is prepared to fight forever.”

It should also be remembered that during the negotiations in Istanbul, the Russian delegation threatened to take control of two additional Ukrainian regions.

Negotiations in Istanbul

On May 16, the initial discussions in the last 3.5 years occurred between representatives from Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul.

It was later revealed that the session involving representatives from Ukraine and Russia extended for slightly more than sixty minutes. However, they failed to make considerable headway towards establishing peace.
