Ukrainian forces have eliminated one of Russia’s most advanced Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile systems, which is valued at $45 million, the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Ukrainian Troops reports.

“An enemy Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system was destroyed in one of the key directions,” the Ukrainian military reported.

In particular, scouts from the Chornyi Lis Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade detected and adjusted fire onto the position of the enemy’s latest medium-range Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system, along with its ammunition.

As per the Khortytsia Grouping, the adversary’s anti-aircraft system was detected when it was set up for an impending attack.

The Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system is a crucial element of the adversary’s air defenses, employed for striking airborne, land-based, and naval targets.

At present, the Buk-M3 represents the latest advancement in the series, boasting an interception capability spanning up to 70 kilometers. It is estimated that acquiring this system would cost around $45 million.

Earlier this month, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces used strike drones to destroy a Russian Buk-M3 system that was covering enemy troops on land.

Furthermore, on May 1, Ukrainian scouts belonging to the Chornyi Lis Brigade took down a Russian Buk-M3 anti-aircraft system as well. You can watch footage of this military action in our news story.
