The US President, Donald Trump, has not indicated any rush to specify whether the United States would offer military assistance to Ukraine should diplomatic efforts fall short. This statement came during his interaction with reporters.
The US President was questioned about his stance on providing military backing to Ukraine should they choose to withdraw from peace talks.
“I’d rather not state that directly, but we would like to see it conclude,” Trump remarked.
Response from the Center for Combating Misinformation
Andriy Kovalenko, who leads the Center for Combating Disinformation, commented on Trump’s remarks, stressing that the U.S. president did not dismiss the possibility of providing assistance to Ukraine.
“He mentioned that he isn’t willing to discuss it at present, as he thinks a deal might still happen. In other words, he just doesn’t want to make any comments on this matter right now,” he clarified.
The U.S. could pull out of talks.
Previously, US President Donald Trump mentioned that his nation may withdraw from the discussions aimed at achieving peace regarding Ukraine. Such withdrawal could occur should either Kyiv or Moscow introduce significant hindrances.
The U.S. leader further highlighted that there remains a “significant possibility” for reaching an agreement to conclude the conflict.
