A woman passed away after an incident in downtown Stuttgart where a vehicle struck a crowd waiting at a tram station.
A 46-year-old woman died from her injuries, according to statements made by the police and public prosecutors on Friday evening.
Initially, it was reported that at least eight individuals sustained injuries.
The police believe it was likely a mishap.
The motorist has been apprehended. A probe is currently underway.
